About LLMs File
LLMs File is an independent project that builds free tools and practical guides for llms.txt and AI search visibility (GEO). Everything here is free, needs no sign-up, and runs as static pages that crawlers and AI assistants can read without executing JavaScript.
Why this exists
AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot — increasingly answer questions by quoting source pages rather than listing links. Site owners kept asking the same practical questions: which crawler does what, how to allow or block them, where to put llms.txt, and how to make pages quotable. This project answers those questions with specific, testable guidance instead of vague advice.
How the guidance is produced
- Grounded in primary sources: crawler behavior is described from the operators' own documentation (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity) and verified against real server access logs.
- Testable, not hand-wavy: guides include the exact
curl, grep, and robots.txt snippets you can run to confirm behavior on your own site. - Transparent operations: we publish our own traffic baselines and crawler logs as case studies, so recommendations stay tied to evidence.
- Corrected over time: where something is unconfirmed (for example, whether a given AI engine consumes
llms.txt), we say so plainly rather than overstating it.
What you'll find here

- Guides and answers: a growing question library on AI crawlers, robots.txt policy, Cloudflare crawler issues, and GEO.
- Templates: ready
llms.txtstarting points by platform and industry.
